Benrather Straße Metro Station
Düsseldorf Wehrhahn line
The Benrather Straße metro station impressively illustrates how the architects of Netzwerkarchitekten and artist Thomas Stricker have developed a joint concept. "Heaven above - heaven below" immerses passengers in an intergalactic world that takes them away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The striking architecture transports us into the interior of a spaceship, while at the same time maintaining contact with the urban space through the funnel-shaped staircases. These lead to a distribution level, from which an air space provides a direct view to the tracks. If you look down onto the tracks from there, it seems as if you are standing on the bridge of a spaceship. The following architectural photographs will take you on this unique journey and give you an impression of what you can expect as a passenger on the Wehrhahn Line in Düsseldorf.
